Human Geography Class

Today in human geography class we took notes on cultural regions. Culture can be defined through beliefs, traits, and social forms. Culture can also refer to small organisms, such as those in a yogurt. The word culture comes from the Latin word "cultus" which means to care for. To care about is to adore or worship something (an example would be a cult). To take care of is to nurse or look after something (an example would be cultivate). Geographers study why the customary ideas, beliefs, and values of a people produce a distinctive culture in a particular place.
