Today in human geo class we continued to discuss independent States. We watched a video where it listed all the countries in the world. After that we started a project where we were given 15 countries and we had to get the leader of that country, an official picture of them, a map of the country, and what kind of government the country has. I finished the project today, and it was not too difficult.

                                                 Human Geography Class                           A Message to Garcia was published in 1899 originally as an inspirational essay. The essay was translated into 37 different languages and sold over 40 million copies. A Letter to Garcia was also made into a movie twice (once in 1916 and again in 1936).             The Spanish-American War was fought in Cuba during the essay and it was a war for Cuba to gain independence from Spain.                                                      Human Geography Class           Today in human geography class we talked about maps. The main map almost every school uses is a Mercator map. Mr. Schick showed us a video from a tv show that used to air a couple years ago. The clip we watched was about a group of people that were having a discussion with the president on changing the maps that almost every school uses. They showed the president how inaccurate the Mercator map was. It showed Africa as a small continent, when really it is much larger, and it makes the United States much larger looking than it really is.
